It’s a black AND white party!

This past Saturday, I attended a birthday celebration for Tricia from Tricia Nicole Events. She is a Wedding and Event planner here in Los Angeles and happens to be the wedding planner for Lauren and David, a couple I shot a few months back. You can see their mini-engagement session here. I have been working closely with Tricia over the last few months, so when she asked me to shoot her birthday party, I couldn’t help but say yes! Most people have heard of a white party, but this was a black AND white party! Woo hoo.

As you walked in, you could see the attention to details was definitely present. Tricia is amazing; if you need a great wedding or event planner, be sure to give her a call, she is awesome! Her touches for this birthday celebration were just phenomenal and everything went so smoothly. Some of the details included:

buckets of black and white feather boas
white candles of all sizes filling each room with gorgeous warm light
white top hats, black glittery hats and black leather newsboys caps
very cool white shades that looked like window blinds
mini disco globes
a black and white candy bar
and more!!!

The catering was amazing and Warren from Crepe Chalet was just fabulous. The crepe bar was a huge hit and I have to admit to having a couple creations made by Warren throughout the night. Simply delicious. The night was filled laughter, joy, dancing, great food and some tasty beverages. Here are some photos of the birthday party celebration. It was great to be apart of such a festive event in celebration of Tricia’s birthday and the joyous holiday season. Despite the big down pour of rain, her friends and loved ones came to represent, it was a big success.

I tried to stay with the black & white theme by posting mostly black and white images, but there were a few that just had to be in color! Check out the birthday party photography…

These cookies were given to Tricia from her husband Jeff. Each cookie had a saying on it, so adorable! You can see here it reads: Happy Birthday my: glorious, fascinating, elegant, funny, wife. I love you so much!

Here is Warren, doing his thang with a little help from Tricia’s sunglasses that were handed out……. Ahhh, those crepes were just delicious.

It’s so much fun to sing Happy Birthday!!!

Her husband Jeff was checking her out all night. You can see how much he adores her. You gotta love it!

Walker Levi Katz…The Bris – Event

A few weeks back, I had the privilege of shooting a Bris on the holiest day…Yom Kippur. According to jewish law, although the human soul exists before birth, human life begins at birth, that is, at the time when the child is more than halfway emerged from the mother’s body. Bris Milah joins the forces of body and soul together in serving G-d.

I stood amongst many family, friends and many loved ones as little Walker Levi Katz made his grand entrance with the help of his Aunt and Uncle. As the Rabbi spoke to the room full of onlookers, Walker performed perfectly, rarely making a noise and often showing a smile. You could see the joy and love in the eyes of proud parents Austin and Alli from afar. I stood back and grabbed some great images of this special day and absolutely love the shots of Walker and his Grandfathers. It was so great to participate in such a special and amazing day.

I had a newborn photography session with Walker a week later, which I will post soon. For now, enjoy these photos from the Bris.

Jeremy & Oliver turn 3

Meet Jeremy & Oliver, the youngest set of twins. Yes, I did say younger set, because Camilla and Raffi have TWO sets of twin boys. These two little fellows just celebrated their 3rd birthday yesterday with friends and family. Lots of kiddies, lots of sugar, a big bouncy house and even an appearance by BATMAN himself. Older twin brothers Julian and Sebastian were right there in the celebration having fun like everyone else. These are four cute little guys!

yes, those blue little hands in the back is frosting from the cake. LOL!

as if cake wasn’t enough, a big bowl of endless M&M’s will hit that sweet spot.

MCRD San Diego ceremony pics

MCRD, Marine Corp Recruit Depot in San Diego, CA is the facility where our United States Marines are built by completing a grueling 12 week intense training course, better known to all of us as BOOT CAMP. My nephew, Christopher was one of the 479 graduating recruits on this Friday, April 3, 2009. The ceremony started off at 10am to the sounds of the USMC band, with the sun shining beautifully. As the recruits came marching out in compete sync, it reminded me of what a great country we live in and how proud I was of ALL the men and women who serve our beautiful country, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Week after week, hundreds of graduates walk on that pavement and become US Marines. Let’s all take our hats off in celebration of those who have served in ANY of our armed forces, past or present. Thank you all for choosing such an honorable job. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all.
